KVS Admission 2025-26 – Important Guidelines
The new guidelines apply to both new applicants and existing students seeking admission under various categories. As per the latest notification, 27% of the total seats have been reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC).
Admission Process for Different Classes
- Class 1 Admission: Conducted through an online draw of lots.
- Classes 2 to 8 Admission: Based on the priority category. If the number of applications exceeds available seats, a lottery system will be followed.
- Class 9 Admission: Based on an entrance test.
- Class 11 Admission: Based on marks obtained in Class 10.
- Admission to Class 10 and 12: Only if there are vacant seats, as per KVS guidelines.

KVS Admission Guidelines 2025-26 Released The following categories of students are eligible for admission to Kendriya Vidyalayas:
- Children of Central Government employees (transferable and non-transferable), including ex-servicemen.
- Wards of employees from Autonomous Bodies, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and Institutes of Higher Learning under the Government of India.
- Children of State Government employees (transferable and non-transferable).
- Wards of employees from State Government Autonomous Bodies and PSUs.
- Foreign Nationals residing in India, provided no Indian national is waitlisted for admission.
How to Apply for Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission?
- Parents must visit the respective Kendriya Vidyalaya school where they wish to enroll their child.
- The KV Admission Form is available free of cost from the school principal.
- For Class 1 admissions, parents must apply online through the KVS admission portal once the registration process begins.
- Admission for Class 11 will be conducted within 20 days of the CBSE 10th result declaration.
